Picture of Hermann Wallich

Hermann Wallich.

The young Hermann displayed a knack for finance, and in 1854, at age twenty-one, he moved to Paris and embarked on a career in banking.

Two decades later, in the midst of a flourishing career in international banking, Hermann moved to Berlin to help run the newly founded Deutsche Bank. He was called in by Georg von Siemens, who was impressed with Hermann's credentials, and together the two men built the foundation for what would become one of the world's most powerful banks.
